A father and son have had a lucky escape after a rogue wave caused their vessel to overturn.
They’d been returning from a fishing trip, when their six metre boat got swamped on Bribie bar yesterday.

Caloundra Coast Guard commander Roger Pearce says the pair was trapped inside the cabin after it rolled.
“They had inflatable life vests on and they hadn’t inflated them at that stage so they were able to both get out,”

“When the father finally got out after taking a couple of breaths inside an air pocket he was able to get outside and his son was sitting on the hull.
“The Kings Beach lifesavers sent across a jetski and they were able to transfer them from the vessel onto that jetski and onto our boat.
“They were very relieved gentlemen.”
