Runners take flight in annual Sunshine Coast Marathon

Runners will be putting their feet up after completing the gruelling Sunshine Coast Marathon.

A record 7500 participants pounded the pavement in Alexandra Headland at the weekend.

Runners took part in various events including the 2km, 5km, 10km, half-marathon and full marathon (42.2km)

Robert Collins was crowned the winner in the men’s event, crossing the finish line in 02:26:12.

Tama Carvolth is the women’s marathon champion after completing the race in 02:45:21
