A woman in her 50s has been flown to a Brisbane hospital in a critical condition after her bike was hit by a car on the Bruce Highway south of the Caloundra turnoff this morning.
It’s believed a car collided with the back of the woman’s bike in the northbound lane of the highway just before 7am causing her to lose control and crash.
Southbound lanes of the highway were also closed this morning after a multi-vehicle crash in the same area at 6.23am.

At least one truck and numerous cars were involved in the crash.
Seven people received minor injuries.
