Record Store Day
Record Store Day (RSD) is a global event to “celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store”. Held on 12th April, the day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world. A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, with a list of releases for each country, and are only distributed to independent shops participating in the event.
Wax Espresso has been participating since we started in 2018 and each year we curate a selection of the strictly limited titles. This year we have ordered close to 100 different titles including Eurythmics, Lou Reed, Oasis, Pond, The Saints, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Thelonious Monk and many more. We used to have bands performing on the day but received a noise complaint so that is no longer happening. One day we will have in-stores again…
There are at least 7 more places to go record shopping on the day on the Sunshine Coast. Support indie. Shop local.
