Simone North – Workshop

“How to Write True Stories for the Screen.”

Simone’s films are often difficult emotional dramatisations of real-life stories involving loss, grief, death and murder.

The translation of a true story into a screenplay is incredibly challenging, and Simone understands the difficulty of developing a linear narrative of real events into a script.

Telling a true story means having the immense responsibility of analysing and writing stories with integrity and veracity. Finding the truth often means working with traumatised victims, their families, the police and witnesses. It also demands the determination to remain impartial whilst recounting the true nature of the events.

This workshop will use “Through My Eyes – The Lindy Chamberlain Story” as an example of this process.
