Detectives from the Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 78-year-old man following investigations into alleged child sex offences and an indecent act committed between July and November 2024.
Police searched a Deception Bay home last Friday where they seized a number of devices and the 78-year-old man was taken into custody.
During enquiries with potential witnesses, police received a report alleging the man exposed himself to a woman in November 2024.
It is further alleged the man sent indecent messages to a child under 16 in an attempt to procure child exploitation material and exposed a child to indecent material, between July and November 2024.
The man has been charged with one count each of using the internet to procure children under 16, indecent treatment of child under 16 and indecent act in any place with intent to insult or offend any person.
Police investigations are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone with further information that could assist investigations to come forward.
