A man has been ordered to pay more than six thousand dollars for killing a dingo with a speargun on K’gari earlier this year.
The 57 year-old man pleaded guilty to spearing the dingo after it lingered around his campsite on the island in April.

The man contacted rangers the next day to tell them he’d killed the animal.
The court also sentenced him to 240 hours community service and a two year probation order.
