A 40 year-old Sunshine Coast man is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today charged with murdering a Brisbane man.
Police were called to a unit in Vine Street at Stones Corner around 1am on Friday for a welfare check and discovered a 61-year-old man dead inside.
Investigators believe the death occurred as a result of a fight in the unit around 10pm on the previous Friday.

Following investigations, detectives located and arrested a man on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday morning.
It’s alleged the two men knew each other.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time or who may have information which could assist with investigations is urged to contact police.
