Woman returns to find Gympie home destroyed by fire

A woman has returned home to find her Gympie house destroyed by a fire.

Emergency service crews were called out to Cartwright Road-Pine Street about 11.40am with the house engulfed.

The woman was consoled by emergency crews as she looked upon the smouldering wreck of her two-storey house.

The fire was put out just before 1.30pm.

The home is near the Gympie West Primary School.

Four crews were initially at the scene but as of 1.30pm only three crews remain.

Nobody was injured.
